You can do more with a compass than solve geometry problems. You can make art.
Supplies:
- Paper
- Pencil
- Compass
- Colored Pencils/Crayons
- Black Marker
Place your compass point on your paper and make a large circle. Make sure it fits on the page before you begin.
Set your compass to a smaller size and place the point in exactly the same place on the page. Remember that concentric circles must share a center point. Continue to create smaller and smaller circles inside the larger circle.
Once you've created as many circles that will fit in your largest circle, move your compass to another point on the paper and decorate the blank spaces with concentric arcs or smaller concentric circles.
Finally color the spaces between the circles with colored pencil or crayon. Trace the pencil lines with black marker to make them stand out (if you want to!)
