If you're lacking for inspiration, one of the easiest ways to start planning is to first choose a theme.
We're not talking red and green garland and silver tinsel. One of our favorite enteraining blogs - Hostess with the Mostess - has tons of modern and sophisticated ideas for your next holiday party.
Think red and green is as tired a color combo there is? So do we. That's why we're downright giddy about this robin's egg blue and berry red color palatte.
Some ideas for your tabletop:
Napkin rings - take individual branches from a red berry spray bunch and wrap them around rolled napkins. Because the “branches” are actually made of thin wrapped wire, it’s easy to bend them around the napkins and twist the ends together to form a circle. (Berry spray is available at most craft supply stores for about $2 each).
Get creative with gift wrap. The fun “tablerunner” pictured above is actually a sheet of modern gift wrap folded in half...and tiny coordinating gift enclosures worked perfectly as the placecards. (We used Snow & Graham’s “berries” gift wrap sheets and “cardinals” tiny cards - both of which are available at luxepaperie.com.) Use paper shears to cut to desired size.
